Student Binding Services

One of the many useful services that we provide is essay and dissertation binding. Take away the stress of having to print out your work and binding it in the university library with our specialist service. You do not have to pre-book, just pop in store and we can do it for you.

Remember that the presentation of your piece of work is incredibly important, particularly if it is a dissertation or thesis of some sort. First impressions are everything, which is why you are expected to present it in a way that requires much more care than other pieces of work.

A lot of universities provide the equipment needed to bind your dissertation or thesis but leave the task of the actual binding up to you. Unfortunately if you have not previously bound many pieces of work it is easy to get this stage wrong. Making a mess at this final stage of your dissertation can make your hard work look a lot scruffier and less formal than it should do.

We can print and bind your work for you so that your essay looks important and professional. Because this process can be done within hours, even if you find that you are in a hurry, you do not have to worry about waiting a long time for the final stages to be completed.

Here are some quick reminders about how to present your dissertations / essays to impress your markers:

• Use a formal font: Times New Roman, size 12 is ideal
• Put numbers on all pages including reference pages
• The first page should include: essay title, your name, student ID, degree, date of submission, word count
• Include a contents page
• Bibliography and appendices (if used) should be at the back.

There are two types of dissertation binding that you can choose from: thermal binding and Wire-O-Binding. The first is a standard form of binding which is usually used for documents that are expected to be read a lot. A strong thermal glue bond prevents pages from falling out.

Wire-o-binding on the other hand uses a spiral wire rather than plastic. The advantage of this type is that pages can be completely flat or twist right around the spiral rather than folded out (as with the thermal binding). A clear plastic cover and card back page comes with either type of binding as standard.
